ICCA has announced the results of its 2024 Association Meeting Needs Survey, which highlight ongoing challenges and transformations in the meetings and events industry.

Insights from associations worldwide

The survey, conducted in collaboration with several regional association executives, gathered insights from associations worldwide, revealing a comprehensive overview of changes in strategic priorities, meeting formats, financial models, challenges, and technological advancements.

In response to the challenges and transformations in the meetings and events industry, associations are diversifying revenue streams, expanding their geographic reach, investing in emerging technologies, and focusing on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) efforts and sustainability. AI and data-driven strategies are being adopted for content creation and member services. There is a significant need for educational support and guidance on best practices.

“Proud to play a key role in supporting the Association Community”

ICCA CEO Senthil Gopinath praised the industry’s growth and flexibility: “Associations have taken the teachings of the last few years and used this information to make strategic decisions about operations and services, deftly adapting to the fast-changing nature of meetings and events. ICCA is proud to play a key role in supporting the Association Community as we all navigate new ways of doing business and grow together as an industry.”
